It has been a strange November for everyone, with huge uncertainty surrounding plans for the horses following the government rulings. As such we are extremely grateful to Will Whitaker, who, following his success in France back in September aboard TW horses, was able to jump at the renowned Mediterranean Equestrian Tour (MET) in Oliva Nova, Spain.
Starting week 1 with a bang, Will rode Conlatage PS to equal first in the 7-year olds to qualify for the final. An unlucky fence kept them off the podium, but a super round, nevertheless. It was déjà vu in week 2 for them with another equal first in the 7-year-old qualifier, but a pole in the final keeping them out of the money.
With Will jumping Spice Girl TW for the first time, it was great to see this mare looking on top form in the Silver Tour. After a steady couple of rounds as this new combination got to know each other, they quickly settled into a rhythm, and jumped a beautiful clear at the end of week 1 in the 1.30m to take 12th place. Capitalising on this success for week 2, Will and Spice Girl TW had a triplet of top 10 finishes taking a 10th, 6th and 7th in the 1.25 and 1.30 classes.
